**Special Announcement:**
The Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Department has successfully applied for the VFIS Health and Wellness grant, a program designed to support Texas fire departments in acquiring health and wellness equipment. Our department applied for the maximum grant amount of $5,000 and is pleased to announce that we have been awarded $3,000 specifically for purchasing a gear washer.
This gear washer will play a crucial role in maintaining our firefighters' personal protective equipment (PPE) by enabling them to thoroughly clean their gear after responding to fires. Regular cleaning helps to eliminate harmful carcinogens, thereby reducing the risk of cancer among our firefighting personnel.
The gear washer's total cost is $6,013, and our department will cover the remaining balance of $3,013. We are grateful for the support we have received and are eager to utilize this new equipment to enhance the safety of our firefighters.
For those who wish to contribute to covering the additional cost, we encourage you to visit our website and click the "Donate Now" button. Thank you to all our supporters for your continued assistance!
